Clube da Criatividade de Portugal has announced the appointment of Judite Mota, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis Groupe Portugal, as its new President.
Recognised as one of Portugal’s leading creative figures, Judite Mota brings decades of experience in developing internationally acclaimed creative work, nurturing talent and leading agencies.
She previously served as Chief Creative Officer at VML Portugal and Executive Creative Director at Y&R, having begun her career in the creative departments of several agencies, including DDB, Ogilvy and Bates/Redcell.
Judite Mota previously held the CCP presidency from 2004 to 2008 and was a member of the outgoing Board. As the Club’s first female President, she now returns to the role, renewing her commitment to the organisation and Portugal’s creative community.
Her appointment was unanimously approved by CCP members at the General Assembly held yesterday, where elections took place for the 2026-2028 term.
João Madeira, Executive Creative Director at Fuel Lisboa, joins the Board as Vice-President. The new Board also welcomes Margarida Borges, designer and co-founder of Desisto, who joins as a Board Member for the first time.
Three members of the previous Board will continue their work with the Club. Mafalda Quintela, Creative Director at Mafalda&Francisco, Daniel Caeiro, Strategy Director at Uzina, and José Maria Machado, Account Director at BBDO.

A new Board, moving in the same direction
As the new CCP President, Judite Mota presented the team’s programme for the next two years, summarising its vision under the motto “A new Board, moving in the same direction.”
As she explained: “Some Board members are changing, bringing fresh perspectives and energy, while those who remain will ensure continuity in the core principles that guide the Club’s work.”
The programme for the 2026-2028 term places particular emphasis on recognising and celebrating creative talent in Portugal, as well as fostering partnerships between the CCP and creative associations and festivals around the world, with the aim of strengthening Portugal’s international presence.
Acknowledging eight years of dedication
The transition also marks the end of Susana Albuquerque’s mandate as President and Pedro Mesquita’s as Vice-President, following eight years of continuous dedication to the Club. Both were honoured by members of Portugal’s creative community in recognition of their commitment and contributions across four consecutive terms. Their legacy includes a more inclusive CCP, with stronger ties to the creative community, educational institutions and the diverse fields of creativity, as well as closer relationships with international associations and markets, strengthening the Club’s presence and connections beyond Portugal.
